Who is behind the advice

About the StopBurnout team

We build the Windows app described on this site and publish practical articles about breaks, focus and healthier screen work. This page explains what we know first-hand, where our limits are, and how we keep the writing honest.

At a glance

  • We have first-hand expertise in designing, building and testing StopBurnout.
  • Product comparisons disclose that we make StopBurnout and link to competitors' own documentation where possible.
  • Health and wellbeing articles are general information, not diagnosis or medical advice.
  • Corrections are welcome at hello@stopburnout.app.

What we know first-hand

The StopBurnout team designs, builds and tests the StopBurnout desktop app. That gives us direct knowledge of Windows input detection, activity-aware break timing, multi-monitor overlays, local data storage, enforcement trade-offs and the practical ways people bypass reminders when they are deep in a task.

When an article describes how StopBurnout behaves, the product itself is the primary source. We test those claims against the current release before publishing significant product changes.

How we research and edit articles

We start with the reader's decision or question, then separate product facts, established guidance, interpretation and opinion. For claims about third-party software, we prefer the maker's current website, documentation and pricing pages. For health, ergonomics and research claims, we prefer public-health bodies, professional organizations, systematic reviews and original research over unsourced summaries.

Visible publication and article update dates must reflect real editorial work. Sitemap dates reflect significant page changes, including structured-data and navigation changes. We do not change an article date merely to make the writing look fresh.

How product comparisons work

StopBurnout is not an independent review publisher: we make one of the products that some comparison articles discuss. Every such article should say so plainly. We compare products by observable fit—such as platform support, enforcement, privacy, customization and price—and recommend a competitor when it better matches the reader's stated need.

Pricing and features change. Comparison pages include a checked date, and readers can report a stale claim by email.

Health and wellbeing scope

Breaks, burnout, eye strain and repetitive-strain symptoms can overlap with medical conditions. Our articles offer general education and practical workplace habits; they do not diagnose, treat or replace care from a qualified professional. If symptoms are persistent, severe or worsening, seek appropriate medical help.

Corrections, updates and contact

If you find a factual error, broken source, outdated product detail or unclear disclosure, email hello@stopburnout.app with the page URL and the point that needs review. We correct material errors and update the visible modified date when the article has substantively changed.
